A missing woman has reportedly been found alive after her Facebook profile picture was changed to a chilling photograph of a smashed mobile phone “covered in blood” today.
Ashley Dillard was initially reported missing on Friday evening.
Her mum Tracy Parker got a call from her other daughter , who had just received a garbled message from another woman.
The woman claimed Miss Dillard had asked her to alert the family and added “your sister Ashley was at [this address] and someone needs to call 911”.
They noticed her profile image had mysteriously been changed to the haunting snap, and it is claimed the red substance was blood.
But now a family friend has claimed online the dog owner has been found alive in Easley, South Carolina, US.
In an emotional update, Traci Fant wrote: ASHLEY DILLARD HAS BEEN FOUND!!!!! ASHLEY DILLARD HAS BEEN FOUND!!!!!”
Speaking yesterday in a tearful Facebook video, Ms Parker said: “If anyone knows anything about my daughter please let me know. I’m really worried and scared something really bad has happened to her.
“I just want to know she’s OK.”
Miss Dillard, whose Facebook profile says she has a niece and at least two dogs, was last seen getting into a blue car near her apartment.
The panicked mum, from Easley, continued: “My daughter always lets me know she’s alright. She always gets in touch with me or one of her three sisters and lets us know she’s OK.
“The police have gone to the guy’s house and he’s not there. He’s told different people different stories.
“If you see this I don’t have any issue with you I just want you to get in touch and tell me what has happened.”
