Theresa May Giving Speech in Parl’t Ahead of Brexit Deal Debate

UK Prime Minister Theresa May is giving a speech in the House of Commons as she seeks changes to her deal negotiated with Brussels last year.
Earlier in the day, PM May told her ministers that she wouldn’t ask parliament to vote on a revised Brexit deal this week as she needs more time to negotiate amendments with the European Union.

The United Kingdom is set to leave the EU at the end of March, and the withdrawal deal which the two sides reached has not yet been approved by UK lawmakers, with the Irish border backstop proving to be the main stumbling block. Both London and Brussels are therefore concerned over the looming and growing possibility of a no-deal Brexit.
