German factory production has fallen more strongly than expected in April and exports have dropped sharply in a weak start to the second quarter in Europe’s largest economy. Lithuania last year used more domestically generated energy, but remained dependent on imports, the country’s statistics office said. Lithuania’s energy dependence rate last year declined by 2.4 percent to 72.9 percent, but was still well above the EU average, which stood at 53.6 percent in 2016.
