Polish MP is convinced that Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine are obliged to avoid any contradictions, especially historical ones, since they reduce the ability to cooperate for the sake of common security.

In order for Ukraine to properly ensure its development and security, the doors to the European Union and NATO must remain open for it. This was announced by the Senate of Poland MP Stanislav Karchevsky at the opening of the tenth session of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the Verkhovna Rada, the Seimas of Lithuania, the Sejm and the Senate of Poland “Security. Development. Democracy. Strong together” on June 7 in Kyiv, Interfax reports.

“The experience of the Baltic countries and Poland shows that only the Alliance can provide security, and development can only be given by the EU, so the doors to these organizations should remain open for Ukraine,” said Karchevsky.

He drew attention to the historical experience of Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine, which suggests that countries should act together on security issues.

The duty of Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine is to avoid any mutual contradictions, especially historical ones, since they reduce the ability to cooperate for the sake of common security, the Polish parliamentarian said.

Poland often stands for support of Ukraine in the EU. In April, Polish National Defense Minister Mariusz Blašczak expressed hope that the newly elected President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, would make Ukraine closer to Europe and NATO.

Poland has repeatedly protested against the violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine by the Russian Federation. In particular, in April, the Polish Foreign Ministry condemned the issuance of Russian passports to residents of the occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine. In March, the Polish diplomatic department called for an end to the arbitrary searches in the occupied Crimea and the detention of the Crimean Tatars.
