The Rīga-based NATO Strategic Communications Center of Excellence (STRATCOMCOE) returns April 28 with the third of its online discussion and question-and-answer sessions.
This week’s online conversation has the theme “Country responses to COVID-19” with Ms Sudha David-Wilp (Deputy Director, German Marshall Fund Berlin Office), Mr Kjartan Hreinn Njalsson (Assistant to the Director of Health, Iceland) and Ms Elīna Lange-Ionatamišvili (Senior Expert, NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence).
“It’s been said that one’s true character is revealed in a crisis. This discussion will focus on three countries with different governmental approaches and country-specific opportunities and challenges that have formed COVID19 crisis responses,” says a preview of the event, which will go live on 28 April at 17:00 Rīga time (GMT 3) on Facebook and YouTube.
“Follow us live and send questions in comments. We will try and answer as many as possible,” promises STRATCOMCOE.
We’ll also provide a live link right here on this LSM English page.
Also on April 28, the Atlantic Council will host an online discussion about the responses of the Baltic States to the coronavirus.
“Though usually viewed together, the public health response in each Baltic state has been quite different, with their own prevention measures and different strategies of managing strategic communications. Each country has also witnessed different trends in disinformation narratives about the pandemic. Experts from each Baltic state will join the Digital Forensic Research Lab for an hour-long discussion to share their observations and lessons learned on how COVID-19 influenced the Baltic information environment,” says a preview.
