On October 3-4 Minister of National Defence Raimundas Karoblis is taking part in the NATO Defence Ministers meeting in Brussels (Belgium) where NATO deterrence and defence measures will be discussed. A topic of particular focus will be the assessment of allies’ progress on increasing defence spending.
NATO Defence Ministers will meet with High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini, Defence Ministers of Sweden and Finland, to discuss closer NATO-EU cooperation in the fight against hybrid threats, terrorism and cyberattacks, and improving conditions of military capabilities’ movement in Europe.
A separate session will be held to meet with Minister of Defence of Georgia in order to address joint projects of the Alliance and Georgia, and topical security matters.
Allied Ministers of Defence are meeting three times per year.
