Lithuania has opened visa centres in five cities across the United States, the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Friday.
The centers in Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Houston and San Francisco opened on December 2 and will process applications for Schengen visas.
The ministry says the new offices will make it easier for people based in the US to apply for visas with long working hours and accessible locations in the cities. The centres will provide additional service, such as travel insurance.
According to the Foreign Ministry, the visa centres are administered by an outside provider, VFS Global, and will not need funding from the Lithuanian government.
