Latvian PM tasked ministries to prepare assessment of impact of Covid-19

Latvian Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins (New Unity) issued a resolution, tasking the financial, economics, transport and agricultural ministers in five days to provide an assessment on the impact of the novel coronavirus Covid-19 on Latvia’s national development.

The prime minister has also asked ministers to debelop possible scenarios in case of the coronavirus outbreak. A similar task has been sent to the Bank of Latvia president Martins Kazaks.

Also, the prime minister on Thursday will meet with the Bank of Latvia president and respective ministers to discuss impact of Covid-19 on the economy and the action plan for support to Latvian business.
