The speaker of the Lithuanian parliament, Seimas, is going to the US to discuss Baltic affairs. He will be joined by his Latvian and Polish counterparts and representatives of the Estonian parliament.
“The US presence in our region is indispensable. We are grateful to the United States for its active participation in military exercises held in the Baltic region,” Pranckietis said.
NATO’s defence plan for the Baltic states and Poland is important for Lithuania, Pranckietis said, as well as measures aimed at bolstering military readiness, including cyber and energy security.
During the visit, the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi, the chairs of committes at the House of Representatitives and the Senate, as well as the Friends of the Baltic states group at the Senate.
The speaker of the Lithuanian Seimas is also scheduled to meet with representatives of the Lithuanian communities in Washington and Baltimore during his visit.
