Grigeo product sales at Lithuanian shops fall in wake of pollution scandal

The recent pollution scandal is taking its toll on Grigeo’s retail sales, the business daily Verslo Žinios reported on Tuesday. 

Maxima supermarket chain said Grigeo product sales at the retail chain dropped by around 18 percent in early 2020 compared with the same period last year.  Read more:  Grigeo Klaipėda lays blame for pollution on former bosses   

Spokeswoman Ramunė Baltrušaitienė from Iki, another major supermarket in Lithuania, said Grigeo product sales plunged by 50 percent last month, and figures from Rimi chain showed a decline of around 25 percent in January from December.
