All 3 Baltic countries post y/y growth in Jan-Apr exports

All three Baltic countries posted year-on-year growth in exports for the first four months of 2018, figures from the EU statistical office Eurostat showed on Friday.

Lithuania’s exports increased by 6 percent in January through April from a year ago to reach 8.6 billion euros.

Latvia and Estonia both registered 9 percent growth in exports, to 4.1 billion euros and 4.5 billion euros, respectively.

Lithuania’s imports rose by 7 percent year-on-year to 9.6 billion euros. Latvia also posted a 7 percent increase, to 4.8 billion euros, and Estonia’s imports grew by 5 percent to 5.2 billion euros.

Lithuania registered the biggest trade deficit for the four months among the three Baltic countries, at 1 billion euros. Latvia and Estonia each recorded a deficit of 0.7 billion euros.
