More than 500 cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Latvia

Latvia recorded its largest number of COVID-19 cases so far in a single day on November 12. This is the second day of record-high numbers in a row. Some 121 medical workers have contracted the coronavirus in Lithuania over the past 24 hours, Daiva Razmuvienė from the country’s National Public Health Center (NVSC) told reporters on Thursday. Since the beginning of November, “963 healthcare specialists have been infected” with the virus, which also “includes not only doctors, but also nurses and their assistants”, she added. Lithuania’s Health Ministry reported on Thursday 1,553 new cases of Covid-19. Almost a 1,000 of the new cases were registered in the country’s post populous counties of Vilnius (505), Kaunas (273), and Klaipėda (214).
