The Center for Disease Prevention and Control (SPKC) updated its statistics October 30, determining that in future self-isolation will be required when entering Latvia from countries with a 14-day cumulative COVID-19 incidence rate per 100,000 of population above 121.7.  Consequently it is now possible to enter Latvia from countries with a lower infection rate than Latvia without the need for 10 days of self-isolation. COVID-19 daily case total hits new high

On October 30 Latvia confirmed 284 new cases of COVID-19, according to the Disease Prevention and Control Center (SPKC). This is the highest daily total yet recorded since the start of the pandemic, topping the previous record high of 259 cases on October 24. Vilnius has send a diplomatic note to Minsk in protest over its decision to close the Belarusian border to passenger transport from Lithuania, the Foreign Ministry said on Friday. Norwegian-made defence systems handed over to Lithuanian Armed Forces

NASAMS medium-range air defence systems procured from Norway have been officially handed over to the Lithuanian Armed Forces following several months of testing, the Defence Ministry said on Friday. Lithuania became the full-fledged owner of the systems after the ministry and Kongsberg, the Norwegian manufacturer of NASAMS, signed “a document certifying good testing results”, the ministry said in a press release. Industrial enterprise production fell by 2 percent on year to September 2019, state agency Statistics Estonia says.
