The spread of COVID-19 in Latvia became ever more serious on Friday, October 16 with the country recording its highest daily total of new cases so far. 148 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Latvia, taking the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic to 3,204. With 281 new coronavirus infections confirmed over Thursday, Lithuania reports the sharpest daily increase for the second day in a row. Moreover, two people died of Covid-19 on Thursday.
