On June 8, Latvia received the first personal protective equipment load purchased within the framework of a joint procurement organized by European Commission (EC), Emergency Medical Service said on June 8. 25 000 goggles and 100 000 surgical masks are currently being delivered. Unemployment registered in Latvia was 8.4% at the end of May, according to data from the  State Employment Agency (NVA). The number of unemployed people registered in Latvia increased by 3.5 thousand, reaching 76.4 thousand. This means an increase of 0.4 percentage points.
