Applications for employee wage compensation have doubled to 103,000 this week, daily newspaper Postimess reported on Friday. On Monday, the number of applications made to the government scheme was 54,200. Coronavirus case total reaches 930 in Latvia

Latvia recorded just two more cases of 19 COVID-19 on May 9, increasing the total number of cases from 928 on Friday to 930 on Saturday. No additional fatalities were recorded.
