A well-known Lithuania scholar, Elena Stankūnienė, died from Covid-19 in Klaipėda on Thursday, the Health Ministry said. She is the 16th death linked to the novel  coronavirus   in Lithuania. The Lithuanian Geographical Society said Stankūnienė, 98, died on Wednesday. Lithuania’s state leaders should undergo regular tests for the  coronavirus  , Lina Businskaite, a spokeswoman for the country’s health minister, told BNS on Wednesday. Police officers in Lithuania to hand out facemasks

Lithuanian Health Minister Aurelijus Veryga said on Thursday that police officers will hand out 120,000 facemasks during the Easter weekend. “Even though it’s a relatively small number, it will be a practical, graspable help for those who are struggling to obtain [facemasks],” he told reporters.
