The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Lithuania has risen to 811, the Lithuanian government reported on Sunday morning. Forty new cases were diagnosed on Saturday. A total of 2,269 samples were tested on Saturday, bringing the total number of tests to 23,645. Seventy-five new  coronavirus   cases were diagnosed in Lithuania over Friday, bringing the country’s total count to 771. A woman in her 80s died from the disease on Saturday, the tenth Covid-19 victim in the country. The woman had been treated in Klaipėda University Hospital, the Ministry of Health said. Coronavirus cases in Latvia now number 533

A further 24 cases of COVID-19 were confirmed on Latvian territory April 5, raising the total number of cases from 509 on Saturday to 533 on Sunday. The new figure was released by the Disease Prevention and Control Center (SPKC) which said 1,300 tests had been conducted during the previous 24-hour period. A second COVID-19 related death has been registered in Latvia, the Disease Prevention and Control Center (SPKC) informed the LETA newswire April 4. The male victim was a resident of the Zilais Krusts homeless shelter in Riga and had other chronic illnesses.
