Oncologist identified as having coronavirus

An oncologist at Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital is among those infected with the Covid-19 coronavirus, Latvian Television reported last night. The hospital’s board chairman Rinalds Muciņš confirmed that a hospital oncologist has been infected with the virus, and is currently in self-quarantine. Number of coronavirus cases in Latvia increases to 347

The number of confirmed cases of the COVID-19 novel coronavirus in Latvia increased to 347 on March 29. A further 42 cases of COVID-19 were confirmed on Latvian territory, raising the total number of cases from 305 on Saturday to 347 on Saturday. The new figure was released by the Disease Prevention and Control Center (SPKC) which said 1,057 tests had been conducted during the previous 24-hour period. After 1,524 people were tested for Covid-19 on Saturday, the total number of confirmed infections in Lithuania rose to 437, the Ministry of Health said on Sunday morning.
