A Lithuanian government delegation departed for Warsaw on Tuesday afternoon to discuss the return of stranded Lithuanians via Poland and the issue of growing queues of commercial vehicles on the border. Four new  coronavirus   cases have been confirmed in Lithuania on Tuesdat. One of the patients belongs to a risk group and his condition is complicated, according to the health minister. Hospitals cut services bracing for patient influx

Most of Latvia’s hospitals have reduced or stopped scheduled and outpatient treatment, said Health Minister Ilze Viņķele March 17 following a cabinet meeting. The minister said critical operations haven’t been cancelled, and patients will be able to receive remote consultations for free. The first child has been diagnosed with the Covid-19 novel coronavirus, and as a result the Disease Prevention and Control Center (SPKC) has urged the infected child’s kindergarten in Piņķi to close their doors, according to the SPKC press conference on March 17. A new case of Covid-19 infection was confirmed in Lithuania in the early hours on Tuesday. It’s the first case where the patient belongs to a risk group and his condition is complicated, according to the health minister. State to offer support to businesses during crisis

During the Covid–19 outbreak, the Latvian government plans to offer far-reaching support to businesses. The state says it will cover costs associated with sick leaves and, in some industries, employees will be compensated for downtime. Some industries will likewise be offered tax holidays, as well as loans and loan guarantees.
